The Grove welcomes first residents

A NEW Great Horkseley development has welcomed its first residents – a couple who reserved before seeing even a picture of their new home!

Chris Lawrence was so impressed with the quality and reputation of Mersea Homes, he had no hesitation in reserving a four-bedroom house when the developer first launched its latest development, The Grove, in the village on Colchester’s northern outskirts.

“At that point, there weren’t even illustrations of the house available but I had seen Mersea Homes properties before and the location was just what we were looking for so we didn’t want to risk missing out by delaying,” said Chris, who works as a construction project co-ordinator in London.

The couple, who moved from Gosbecks Farm, took advantage of Mersea Homes’ part-exchange scheme. “It just made life so simple,” said Chris. “Moving house is a big enough headache without having the added worry of having to sell your existing home. When Mersea Homes offered to take our home in part-exchange, we were very happy to agree.”

The Grove is home to a wide choice of three, four and five-bedroom houses. The stunningly designed houses include balconies, vaulted ceilings and dining halls, with an attractive external mix of brick and weatherboarding. The houses will be complemented by areas of parkland for use by both residents of The Grove and other villagers.

A selection of three and four-bedroom houses are currently available with prices starting at £269,995. The Grove offers a rare opportunity for house-hunters to purchase a new home in a rural setting but one which is convenient for Colchester town centre and road and rail links.
