New phase and new styles at Wellhouse Green
THE appeal of Mersea Island shows no sign of abating as the third phase of
Mersea Homes’ Wellhouse Green is launched, offering a range of fresh styles on
the rapidly maturing development.
Two, three and four-bedroom houses feature among the latest phase of 25 homes

The innovative nature of the design of Wellhouse Green off East Road in West
Mersea, where virtually every property is unique, has proved hugely popular with
house-hunters, many of whom have taken advantage of the developer’s
part-exchange scheme to hasten their arrival at Wellhouse Green.
One of the first residents to move in has a particularly keen interest in the
design and finish of the homes. Gary Ambrose is Managing Director of Excel
Window Systems, the company responsible for all windows and glazing on the
development. So impressed was he with what he saw at Wellhouse Green, he has
bought there himself.
“I’ve had the advantage of seeing at very close hand the quality of the build of
these houses and I had no hesitation, when I moved back to Colchester, to buy at
Wellhouse Green. We took advantage of the part-exchange scheme which made the
move very smooth and easy,” said Gary.
He and wife, Debbie, and son, Toby, have been joined at Wellhouse Green by
Excel’s Installations Manager, Paul Smith and his family.
The windows at Wellhouse Green have been designed by Excel specifically for the
development. “The design process took nine months but we were able to meet a
very demanding specification which resulted in Mersea Homes introducing uPVC
windows for the first time on one of its developments,” added Gary
